Dave Saunders is committed to nutritional cooking that promotes personal health, energy, fitness and happiness. What started out as various jobs in pizza parlors and sandwich shops while earning his B.A. in Journalism at the University of Colorado (1988) quickly became a passion for food. Dave began to pursue positions in hotel kitchens and prominent seafood houses in a quest to marry fresh locally grown ingredients with nutritional cooking techniques. 

In 1991, Dave moved from Boulder to Seattle to take a position with Ray’s Boathouse. Since then, he has moved up the ranks from line cook to catering chef and has been a strong positive influence in the presentation and preparation of Ray’s cuisine. 

When not pursuing culinary design, Dave is a proud dad, avid cyclist, softball enthusiast and voracious reader. Wanderlust occasionally arises and has recently led him to England, Turkey and China.
