Julie Tatley
Cafe Operations and Staffing Manager
Born and raised in Edmonds, Washington, Julie began working in restaurants at the age of 15. She worked every position, from host and busser to server and bartender, and decided to pursue a career in management. Julie moved to Las Vegas and attended UNLV, one of the nation's top schools for hotel and restaurant management. She graduated at the top of her class in 2002.
Julie moved back to Seattle and immediately secured a position at the Edgewater Hotel. She joined the Ray's team in 2003 as a lead host and dining room supervisor. Eager to gain experience, business knowledge and leadership skills, she left Ray's in 2005 to pursue management opportunities with Starbucks and Redmond's Coho Cafe. Ray's was highly impressed with Julie's initiative and growth, and offered her the position of Cafe Operations and Staffing Manager in 2007.
Julie jumped at the chance to return to Ray's and the Ballard neighborhood, where her Norwegian grandmother emigrated to and grew up. She is the youngest manager on our team and we are delighted to have her help lead the next generation of Ray's!
